This is unfortunate as people who use vanillajs may not be pinned to a particular version

i did some...minor heroics...and pushed the v2.18.0 build into v3.0.1 dist folder

not great, but it restores functionality for people that might link to unpkg (like our tutorials suggest)

If this ever is resolved, probably want to make something like the component_tests but for the vanillajs build
