I'm Jannik Heym.
I am a tech enthusiast located close to Berlin, Germany. Currently a dual student at Bayer, I support teams developing internal tools and platforms.
In my free time I work on my homelab as well as a few side projects
Running a three-server cluster at home, I’m experimenting with Kubernetes and Networking (VLANs, IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack, HA OPNsense).
Current stack:
- RKE2 & Calico
- ArgoCD (GitOps)
- CNPG & MinIO
- NGINX Ingress (currently transitioning to Gateway API)
- Cert-Manager
- Kube-Prometheus-Stack
- OPNSense (HA)
Patch2PDF is a WIP side project that is supposed to make my life easier when I am freelancing as a lighting technician. It generates PDFs with 3D views of stage designs—ensuring lights can be quickly placed accurately upon arrival—and tracks event schedules throughout the year.
To ensure scalability and expandability, I’m building it with a cloud-native microservice architecture, leveraging Go with gRPC for internal communication and an API Gateway for public REST endpoints.
Check the sidebar for my socials! I'm always up for a chat about Kubernetes, networking, or anything cloud-native.
