Stage 4 - Modelling

All previous stage's 1, 2 and 3 must have been followed for you to carry on.



Step 1

  • Lets get started by creating our base.
  • Create a cube by clicking once on our parent folder 'head' and a new button will appear above it to create a cube:

  • And a few things will change once you have a cube to use:

  • In the top left you can see a outline of a box on the 'UV Map' this box you can move around to choose where the texture is for that block.
  • In the top right you can see the cubes data, its position its size and its rotation.

FOR THIS GUIDE WE WILL MAKE A SIMPLE MINE-CART (A BOX)



Step 2

  • Now you have a cube we need to change the size and position, These tools can be changed at the top toolbar:

  • The first icon is the hand to move around objects, the one I'm on in both pictures is the size tool to pull/push each face of the object, the third rotate icon is to rotate obviously...
  • For now get on the stretch tool and create the base of our minecart:

MineCartBase

  • Notice the N indicating North that is the forward direction of the vehicle.
  • And while having the base cube selected you can see its position on the UV map in the top left.

Thats all for Stage 4 you can now head over to Stage 5
