Data Analysis

Project Summary and Highlight:

To maximize the influence of our analysis and visualizations, our goal is to create an interactive map web page, fact sheet, and other sorts of deliverables to display our most significant findings in conjunction with our data stories, such as brownfield sites, overly emission regions, and bad water quality areas. In this way, users would be able to interact with our information and better understand issues in Augusta compared to other regions.

Research Question:

1. How do the pollution levels (and water/air quality) and health outcomes in Augusta compare to state and national averages?
2. How do rates of asthma, cardiovascular disease, and cancer correlate with proximity to pollution sources and how do these trends vary over time in Augusta (in different neighborhoods)?
3. How do different EJ variables interact and what do they inform us about the overall well-being of Augusta?
