Script Mode

Script Mode can be enabled by wrapping text with \[ and \]. Inside the Script Mode you can use ^, _ and parentheses:

  • ^ makes next group as superscript, if might.
  • _ makes next group as subscript, if might.
  • Brackets (), [], {} separates text to different groups.

Note: if it is not possible to apply the script to at least one character in the bracket, then the script is NOT APPLIED to the entire bracket

For example:

Input Output
\[\alpha^2x\] α²ˣ
\[\alpha^x+2\] αˣ+2
\[\alpha^(x+2)\] α⁽ˣ⁺²⁾
\[\alpha^xy\] αˣy
\[\alpha^(xy)\] α⁽ˣʸ⁾
\[\alpha^[x+2]\] α^[x+2]
\[\alpha_(i+j)\] α₍ᵢ₊ⱼ₎
\[\alpha_i+j\] αᵢ+j

\[α^[x+2]\] is α^[x+2] because we can't make the [] as superscript.
