OCT Quick Start Guide

Installation

  • Go to the latest release and download the oct-setup.exe file by clicking on it
  • Once downloaded, run the file from your file manager or from the popup in your web browser

  • Go through the installer, changing options as you prefer

  • Select install and wait for the installation to complete

  • Select finish to open OSC Chat Tools

Enabling the OSC

  • Open the action menu by holding menu or r for desktop
  • Navigate to the options section

  • Navigate to the osc section

  • Make sure the slider is set to enabled

  • When first opening OCT, you will arrive at the main layout view
  1. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a set of 4 controls, these will persist through every tab
    • The Apply button applies any changes you make to the program and must be pressed to see any changes reflect in VRChat
    • The Reset button restores all settings to their default values. This will delete your current configuration!
    • The Run checkbox toggles whether the program is sending data to VRChat (With a few exceptions)
    • The AFK checkbox toggles an AFK message appearing in your chatbox
  2. On the left side of the window, you can see the different tabs available
  3. The Add Elements panel is where you add various elements to display in your chatbox
  4. The Arrange Elements panel is where you can rearrange and customize certain properties about each element
  5. This is where you can manually edit the layout

Adding an element

  • To add an element to your layout, select the Add to Layout button on your desired element image

  • The element will appear on the right Arrange Elements panel image

  1. On the left, you can adjust the position of each element
    • The leftmost button removes the element from your current layout
    • The center button moves the current element upwards
    • The rightmost button moves the current element downwards
  2. This button toggles a vertical separator appearing on the right of the current element
    • With this option toggled on: image

  3. This button toggles a new line being placed at the end of the current element
    • With this option toggled on: image
