User Guide
The Outlook Privacy Plugin provides OpenPGP encryption capabilities to Outlook. This is a quick guide on using the plugin to send and receive encrypted email.
This plugin must be installed by each user of the system. The current installer does not have an option for installing to all users.
Download the latest release from the the releases page.
Install gpg4win and import or create keys as needed. Verify you can see all expected keys from the gpg4win key manager software.
Gpg4win is not required, but highly recommended.
Outlook Privacy Plugin should automatically find your keyrings. However, if they are located in a non-standard location or gpg4win is not being used, a custom location for keyrings can be set via the GNUPGHOME environmental variable. After setting the environmental variable, Outlook must be restarted.
For most users the default settings should be fine, however you can a number of settings for the plugin via the Settings window.
To access the Settings from the main Outlook window do the following:
-
Click on the Add Ins tab
-
Click on the Settings button in the OpenPGP group
-
A dialog will open with various settings
