Breaking a cake will drop nothing even with silk touch except the sculk cake which will drop 5 XP. Breaking a candle cake will drop a candle of the type that was on the cake.

Trading

A cake baker villager can sell 1 carrot cake for 1 emerald at apprentice level and 1 creeper cake for 20 emeralds at master level.
A wandering trader can sell 1 seed cake for 2 emeralds.

Usage

When standing on a lava cake, it will deal 1 fire damage every half second just like a magma block.

Much like a slime block a slime cake will bounce entities that land on it, but not nearly to the extent of a slime block.

Eating

Just like the default cake, all cakes must be placed on the ground to be eaten except the cupcake which can also be eaten straight from your hand.

Pandas

Any cake flavor can be fed to a panda if it is dropped (not placed) close enough to the panda. Additionally, any effect the cake may have had will not be applied to the panda.

Composting

Any flavor of cake can be composted with a 100% chance of raising the compost level by 1 except for cupcakes which have a 25% chance.

Piston interactivity

Being pushed by a piston will break the cake except for the obsidian cake which will block piston movement. If it is the top half of a three tiered cake being pushed then only the top half will break leaving the lower half intact.

Cakes with Candles

Using a candle on an uneaten cake even a tiered one will create a candle cake of that flavor. Eating the candle cake will cause the candle to drop.
Using a flint and steel, a fire charge, or a flaming projectile, (other modded items could work but are not guaranteed) on an unlit candle cake will light the candle. Interacting with specifically a candle on a cake (not the actual cake) will extinguish the candle if it is lit.

Stacked/Tiered Cakes

Using a cake item on an uneaten placed cake of the same type will cause the placed cake to be stacked creating a two tiered cake, using a cake item of the same type again will turn the two tiered cake into a three tiered cake.

Redstone

A redstone cake will always emit a signal strength matching the number of slices left.

When connected to a comparator any non-tiered cake (including a redstone cake) will emit a signal strength of double the number of slices left, e.g 3 slices give a signal strength of 6, if it is a tiered cake the signal strength will instead match the number of slices left, e.g 3 slices gives a signal strength of 3.
