Final version: for the most part, the functionality has been superseded by the adios Oil database project:

However, we will try to keep up with bug fixes and python compatibility.

This version should work with Python 2.7 and Python 3.6+ (tested with 3.8).

Otherwise a few building issues fixed, and that's about it.
