Data Basics Spring 2019 Workshop Session One	default	/

Basics Workshop Series

This 8-week workshop will teach the basics of the Python programming language with a focus on managing data. Each week will cover the following topics:

1. January 28th - Data Centric Python with Jupyter Part 1
2. February 4th - Data Centric Python with Jupyter Part 2
3. February 11th - Computing Environments and the Unix Shell
4. February 18th - Data Processing with Python and Pandas Part One
5. February 25th - Data Processing with Python and Pandas Part Two
6. March 4th - Data Visualization with Python
7. No Session, Spring Break!
8. March 18th - Relational Databases and SQL Part One
9. March 25th - Relational Databases and SQL Part Two

Times:

• The Data Basics workshop series will be Mondays from 5:00pm to 8:30pm

Location:

• Schenley Place (4420 Bayard St.) Room 311A/B (Third floor. Look for the sign “Center for Research Computing”)

The Setup

• Bring a laptop (and power). You do not need to install any software, everythign will be running in the cloud.

• We will be using the Center for Research Computing services for hosting the course.
