North American High Speed Rail - Gravity Model Analysis

In this project I analyze the viability of North American High Speed Rail Routes using a Gravity Model.

The Gravity between two cities (metro areas) is the product of their populations divided by the distance between them squared.

Getting Started

  1. Open High_Speed_Rail_in_North_America_Gravity_Model.ipynb (7.59 MB) in a Jupyter Notebook environment (Google Colab recommended).
  2. Upload the shapefiles from the World Continentsfolder.
  3. Run the notebook.
