INTRODUCTION

Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets (also called supercenters), discount department stores, and grocery stores in the United States, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. The company was founded by brothers Sam and James "Bud" Walton in nearby Rogers, Arkansas in 1962 and incorporated under Delaware General Corporation Law on October 31, 1969. Walmart operates approximately 10,500 stores and clubs in 20 countries and eCommerce websites. They employ 2.1 million associates around the world — nearly 1.6 million in the U.S. alone. The world’s largest company by revenue WALMART,sells everything from groceries, home furnishings, and body care products to electronics, clothing, etc., and generates a large amount of consumer data that it utilizes to predict customer buying patterns, future sales, and promotional plans and creating new and innovative in-store technologies.
