Fusion

Fusion is the alloy add-on for SimpleCore/Simple Ores2. It adds steel (and steel items) and the fusion furnace (an alloy furnace); from Simple Ores2, it adds 3 more alloys and items made from them: bronze, thyrium and sinisite. As of Minecraft 1.14.4 and later, Akkamaddi's Fusion Recycling has been rolled into Fusion, adding fusion furnace recycling of vanilla, Simple Ores2, Netherrocks, and Fusion items.

Fusion introduces a new feature to SimpleOres2 and friends: the Fusion Furnace. This new furnace allows you to combine certain materials to produce something better, requiring a catalyst in the process. For each different alloy that can be produced, there are a number of different levels of catalysts available, with each one allowing the reaction to be more or less efficient than another.

As of Minecraft 1.11 versions and later, JEI (Just Enough Items) is fully supported for looking up crafting, smelting and fusion furnace recipes. Note: JEI was not yet been released for 1.17.1 until late in August 2021, so early versions of Fusion for Minecraft 1.17.1 did not support it.

Fusion is currently available from CurseForge and Modrinth.

For Minecraft Forge 1.16.3 and later, SimpleCoreLib is required. For Minecraft Forge 1.14 through 1.16.1, Simple Ores2 is required; for earlier and later versions, it is optional but recommended. SimpleCore API is no longer required for Minecraft 1.12.2 or earlier.

Credit

The original Fusion mod was entirely developed by AleXndrTheGr8st (aka Skrallexy on Curseforge), and is currently maintained by Sinhika. Since becoming OpenSource there have been some very helpful people who have submitted code that has been used as a basis, whether large or small, for new SimpleOres features. These people (in no particular order) are:

  • zot201 - A HUGE amount of help with the Fusion Furnace.
  • sadrus - Help with OreDictionary support for the Fusion Furnace.
  • akkamaddi - created many, many add-ons for SimpleOres, and whose Fusion Recycling add-on is now part of Fusion proper.
  • The Forge Project Discord - invaluable for answering questions about porting code up to the next version of Minecraft.
Also worth mentioning are the dozens of people who assisted with odd bits of code here and there, whether they know it or not.

A huge thank-you is also necessary for all the people who helped with localisation, allowing SimpleOres 2 and its plugins to be used with different languages all over the globe.
