remember when i said 1.6.0 was the last version? (you don't)
i just so happen to have the HTML5 and android exports for gamemaker now, so i made some more small touches.

you can play the HTML5 version here:

note: the android versions are not very good. i included it because i can and you can't stop me

  • fixed minor bugs
    -i don't know how many of them are due to html5 so i'll leave it at that
  • minor changes to jinx 2 in hard mode

remember: you should download the YYC build, and only if you are having issues with it, download the VM build.

Biggest and last update.

  • added hard mode
    -begin hard mode by beating the game
    -everything is harder (new, harder attacks, and even a new phase for a certain jinx)
    -incredible!
  • modifed every single jinx
    -yippie
  • added dynamic fps
    -consequently the fps buttons were removed from the main menu despite their funny noises
  • added saving
    -the game doubled in size, so why not
  • added screen shake
    -weeeee
  • added accessibility options and design
    -most actions are now performed with the mouse, the only keyboard button used is escape to pause
    -there are accessibility options on the main menu. you can disable screen shake, and disabling the "Intense Visuals" options will make flashes be black instead of white, and change the final jinx background to something nicer on the eyes.
  • added scoring system
    -considers how many times you got hit, your time on the current jinx, and how many times you've missed (clicked while not on the jinx)
  • cursor color now dynamically changes depending on the background to make it easier to see

About the available builds, download the YYC build for better performance, and the VM build if you're experiencing issues with the YYC one.
About the missing Linux build, I gave up trying to set up a virtual machine to work with GameMaker again.
If anyone else is willing to compile it or for any OS for that matter, I'll gladly put it here.

new changes:

  • you can press escape on the title screen to quit the game

again writing changes from 1.4 because I spent a long time on that release:

  • Added an option to change the framerate
    the game was built to run at 60 FPS
    this works by making most of the code run only 60 times per second,
    and making some code run the entire time so things look smoother
    this also makes the mouse have a lot less delay on 60hz monitors
    this was very hard to implement and not worth it
    the game is now even more of a mess than it was before

I am ill.

New changes:

  • Add a fullscreen button
  • Make pressing Shift on the pause screen restart the game
  • Update to newer version of GMS2, fixing an issue with the cool effect Jinx 4 had when it starts attacking.

Changes from 1.3.1:

  • Will now use correct Y level for the middle of the screen for all cats (I am stupid)
  • Changed bonus jinx laser
  • Added pausing

  • Changed ending to be more accurate (and a lot better looking honestly)

  • Properly import the sprites for the first and second jinx.

  • Used the properly imported sprites for the first and second jinx attack sprite, and also for the bonus jinx.

  • Overhaul bonus jinx bossfight. Almost all attacks are modified, and I added another one.

  • Give the fourth jinx a twirl spawning animation with GMS2's new filters and effects feature.

  • You can now replace the mouse with a crosshair on the title screen.

Perfectionism to this degree has never been reached by man, until today.
