User Manual 🌍

Welcome to OrbitView! This guide helps you navigate and use the powerful tools available in our 3D tracking platform.

🖱️ Navigation Basics

  • Rotate: Left-click and drag.
  • Zoom: Mouse wheel or pinch.
  • Pan: Right-click and drag.
  • Select: Click any satellite point to open the Info Panel.

🛠️ The HUD (Heads-Up Display)

1. Sidebar & Search

  • Use the Search Bar to find satellites by name (e.g., "ISS", "Starlink-1024") or NORAD ID.
  • Use Filters to show only specific categories like GPS, Starlink, or CubeSats.
  • Analyst Mode: Toggle high-performance data overlays and coordinate grids.

2. Info Panel

When a satellite is selected, the Info Panel provides:

  • Telemetry: Real-time altitude, velocity, and orbital period.
  • Visuals: Toggle Orbit Paths, Ground Tracks, and Footprint (coverage area).
  • Pass Prediction: See when the satellite will next pass over your location.

3. AR Mode (Mobile)

On compatible mobile devices, use the Compass Icon to enter AR mode. Point your phone at the sky to see where satellites are located in real-time relative to your physical orientation.

⚙️ Settings

  • LOD (Level of Detail): Enable this to hide distant satellites for better performance on slower devices.
  • Time Sync: Toggle between Real-time, Slow-mo, or Fast-forward mode to visualize orbital progressions.
  • Theme: Switch between Deep Space (Dark) and Scientific (System) themes.
