This release is a total redesign of the adapter, which now only uses through-hole components, with only a slight increase in dimensions.

Functionality-wise there is not much difference, pull-up resistors have been added on the joystick inputs to make the signals more stable, and the led has been removed because of lack of board space. It wasn't very useful anyway.

The pull-up resistors can be disabled with a jumper, it is recommended to do so when using a controller that has those built-in, such as Sega Mega Drive/Genesis controllers.

The capacitor can either be an SMT 0805 or a standard through-hole.

Note that the two resistor arrays are different in their internal wiring!

  • The 6-pin one uses the BUSSED configuration (i.e.: 5x10k). This also means that you must be careful and orient the part correctly.
  • The 10-pin one uses the INDEPENDENT/ISOLATED configuration (i.e.: 5x100R). Thus the orientation of this part does not matter.

See image if you need any clarifications. If you have troubles finding the 10-pin one, you can replace it with 5 ordinary resistors, just solder one between every couple of pins. You might even be able to fit 0805 SMD resistors.

This release has been tested and is working fine.

THE PCB HAS BEEN TESTED AND WORKS!

But use at your own risk, as usual.
