Releases: TeoJT/Timeway
Timeway 0.2.0
This is it. The big one.
Welcome to Timeway 0.2.0!
This major release adds pockets, an inventory for your files. And, perhaps more significantly, you can now customise realms directly within Timeway at long last. No more fiddling with .pixelrealm files in file explorer!
There is loads of additions and changes, including but certainly not limited to:
- Swapping items in pocket.
- Right-click menu in pocket (open, copy, rename, delete).
- Shift-click for quick moving of items.
- A new sound theme.
- New general look and feel.
- New title theme music!
- Bug/crash fixes:
- Deleting playing cassettes no longer crashes Timeway.
- Fixed items being in a "ghost" state with the grabber tool.
- Entry camera switching crash fix.
- Limit clicking oneshot buttons so it cannot be clicked multiple times which can cause problems.
- "Slow down!" erroneous bug warning fixed in refresher.
- Probably some others I'm forgetting.
- Some memory-specific optimisations.
- 10 new high-quality realm templates!
Timeway 0.1.9
Welcome to Timeway 0.1.9!
- Input system updated, scrolling is much smoother and feels wayyyy better.
- Added a new menu when a file conflict occurs. This menu allows you to rename the moved file or replace the existing file.
- Hotbar UI improvement; portals display correctly and items are no longer stretched.
- Realm templates redesign!
- All templates (with a few exceptions) have been upgraded to the latest realm version!
- Some not-so-good templates have been replaced with better ones, and others that are too similar to existing templates have been replaced with more unique templates too.
- Sadly, 100 templates have been cut. It turns out that maintaining 200+ templates takes too much time. On the bright side, the templates download size is significantally smaller, and the templates that were cut were pretty rubbish anyway.
- Numerous bug fixes and other small improvements.

In this version, you can now warp and morph the land using the new morpher tool, and bounce around with improved player physics around your realms! This version also adds 50 new brand-new (and brand-old) templates, with some music provided by a certain friend who likes boxes :)
Here's the other additions/changes:
- Added bulge, flat extend, block, and pit sub-tools to the morpher tool.
- Adjusted player physics so steep slopes are slidable, and player cannot pass through walls/tall pillars.
- Android version now goes to the "Access to all files" settings upon opening the app if it hasn't been enabled yet.
- Massive improvements to first-time loading performance by fixing caching issues on Windows.
- Re-added highlight colour and added transparency when holding objects and looking at items with the grabber tool.
- Adjusted the size of chunks limits in the new 2.1 realm version.
- Numerous bug fixes.
To run on Windows:
Unzip the files and run Timeway.exe.
To run on Linux:
Extract the files, rightclick the "Timeway" executable and click "Run as application".
To run on Android:
Download the APK file. You will need to go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps > Files > Enable "Allow from this source". Go to the files app, locate the APK file in your downloads folder, select it, then click "yes".
Timeway should prompt the "Access all files" setting upon launch if not enabled already.
Timeway 0.1.2
Welcome to Timeway 0.1.2!
This release introduces previews of your Timeway entries in the Pixel Realm! You can also now infinitely scroll in entries!
Not only that, but this is the first version of Timeway that now runs on Android! Still very experimental and buggy, but will improve in future versions!
Other additions/changes:
- Touch controls added.
- New menu buttons added for easier use without a keyboard.
- Realm refresher revived! (if you externally change files in the realm you're currently in, this change will automatically be detected and the realm will be refreshed).
- Much-needed performance improvements to loading large images.
- Other general performance improvements and bug fixes.
Go to files, locate the APK file in your downloads folder, select it, then click "yes".
Once installed, you will also need to grant Timeway access to your filesystem. Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > All files access > Timeway > Enable "Allow access to manage all files".
While this might seem dodgy, rest assured that Timeway only ever uses your files to display them within the app. Your personal data NEVER leaves your phone in Timeway. It's your universe, not anyone else's.
Timeway 0.1.1
Welcome to Timeway 0.1.1!
This new update features a rewrite to the realm generator. The new realm generator (2.0) can now save realms to .pixelrealm-turf.json instead of generating it on the fly, which allows for much better customisation of realm terrains!
Here are some of the other main additions/changes:
- Water & swimming added!
- Easy-to-use terraformer menu. Currently there is
sine-sine-sineandlegacy. - Loads of new sound effects!
- Upgrade to Processing 4/Java 17
- 50 new realm templates added, most of which use the new 2.0 realm generator!
- Loads of bug fixes and optimisations.
To run on Windows:
Unzip the files and run the executable. Java 17 is included with the package.
To run on Linux:
Decompress the files, right-click the Timeway executable and click "Run as application" (this is for GNOME, if you're using a different WM, I trust you know how to run programs). Java 17 is included with the package, so no need to install it as a separate dependency this time!
