MedCardMaker is an AI-powered flashcard maker. In preparing for medical boards, one of the issues I ran into was finding a good platform that would automatically convert source material into flashcards that can be downloaded and imported into Anki or Quizlet. While Anki has many great features, it doesn't have the native capability to automatically generate flashcards from source material.
There are great pre-made decks, such as Anking, to prepare for boards. However, there aren't a lot of great pre-made deck options if you want to use a specific textbook or youtube video. There are plenty of platforms that will make flashcards from pdfs and YouTube videos, but the vast majority of them only generate simple fill-in-the blank or question and answer flashcards.
This platform will allow for the import of source material from pdfs, ppt, and YouTube links. From this source material, you have the capability to generate multiple flashcard types, including image-occlusion, cloze-deletion, and question and answer formats. You can select a specific number of flashcards or how densely made you want them based on the source material (for example, you might want 20 flashcards for a 10 page document).
In addition to flashcards, you can generate summaries based on the source material. You have the capability to choose how detailed you'd like the summaries. Personally, I really like comprehensive, dense summaries. Some other people may like the bare minimum. You can also choose between summaries made in bullet-point or paragraph form.
One of the defining features is the capability to upload large files. Maybe flashcard makers severely limit the number of pages or size of document. MedCardMaker allows for the ability to upload pdfs as large as 300MB and 1,500 pages.
