Setup Guide
MiniSpeedCam creates an access point which you will connect directly to. You will then enter your WiFi network and password into the MiniSpeedCam web interface, and the device will automatically connect to your network.
You will need a device with WiFi, ideally a laptop, desktop, or tablet. A phone should work but there may be issues with the UI on a small screen.
It's important to create an account before setting up your device. Even if you don't plan to use the minispeedcam.com website in the future, it's best to try it out to understand how the system works.
Go to minispeedcam.com and create an account and sign in.
On the lefthand column, click Cameras
Create New Camera
Give the camera a name
Note the Camera ID and copy it down, you will be disconnecting from the internet and may not have the chance to copy it once WiFi is disconnected.
Using your laptop, computer, phone, or other WiFi-enabled device, search for WiFi networks and connect to MiniSpeedCam.
Once connected, use a browser and enter: 192.168.4.1 in the browser address bar.
In the ESPUI, go to WiFi, and enter your WiFi Network, Password, and Camera ID. It's important to enter the Camera ID in this step.
Click save.
You will now get disconnected from the device.
MiniSpeedCam should now be connected to your network, but we do not know what local IP address was assigned to it.
Go back to minispeedcam.com -> Cameras -> Local IP. This is the local IP address that was assigned to your device.
Enter it in your address bar and you will have the ability to edit several settings. More info on those coming soon.
Your MiniSpeedCam is now monitoring speeds and uploading data.
On the left sidebar, go to Captures, this is where your speed and camera capture data is located.
Click on the camera you would like to monitor.
A list of all data is now displayed below. You can also click on the photo to enlarge it and download it.
