Rationale: The current default prefix
checkoften conflicts with other non-testing functions such ascheckpointorcheckSignature. The new default prefixcheck_doesn't conflict with non-testing functions that follow the CamelCase naming convention. Also, using underscores for naming testing functions is considered a best practice.
