Security Leader, Researcher, Developer, Writer, and Photographer.
With more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, software development, and leadership, my work has spanned applied cryptography, application security, penetration testing, and AI-driven security automation. My focus is on building solutions that bridge technical innovation with thoughtful, ethical considerations.
My professional interests involve:
- Advanced application security
- Applied cryptography
- AI-driven penetration testing and automated security remediation
- Ethical considerations in security technology
Beyond software and security, I actively explore the intersection of technology, philosophy, and ethics. I write extensively on security technology, leadership, and AI ethics. You can find my articles, insights, and essays at my personal website: adamcaudill.com.
I’m a purist fine art photographer, shooting almost exclusively in black & white — no cropping, minimal editing, no color enhancements — just the image exactly as it appeared in my viewfinder.
Roots in photojournalism My photographic journey began in teen years as a photojournalist for a small East Tennessee newspaper. That environment instilled a deep appreciation for visual storytelling and the fundamental importance of press freedoms.
Film foundations My early years were dominated by 35 mm manual film cameras. I learned long, patient observation with a Yashica FX‑3 Super 2000, embraced the Canon AE‑1 Program’s mechanical precision, and briefly experimented with Nikon’s automatic systems. This period taught me discipline — choosing the moment before pressing the shutter.
Digital with integrity Today, I shoot with an iPhone 13 Pro Max (using Obscura + Rands filter) and a Fujifilm X‑T3 (in ACROS simulation with Red filter and boosted contrast). The goal remains unchanged: present what the moment reveals, unchanged and unfiltered.
A singular vision My aesthetic is stark, elemental, often moody — everyday structures, stark natural forms, quiet moments — all illuminated by natural light. I avoid landscapes and posed people, instead seeking unexpected angles that reveal the overlooked or ordinary.
Drawn from my experiences, these photographs reflect a consistent intent and discipline — capturing the world as it shows itself.
I previously maintained the GitHub account adamcaudill, which was deleted when I stepped away from open source development and social media. My current account is adcaudill, where I continue to share my current projects and contributions.
