Summary

  • add a --trim-covariance escape hatch to scripts/compute_commutator.py, trimming extra high-ℓ bins when legacy covariances are larger than Δ
  • expand the mismatch error message with geometry metadata and guidance, while recording whether trimming occurred in the summary JSON
  • document the trimming workflow for legacy covariances in the README and Phase 5 verification log

Testing

  • ruff check scripts/compute_commutator.py
