Deep-dive books into AOSP internals — human-led, AI-assisted, human-reviewed.

aospbooks

We write books that dive deep into Android internals — AOSP framework, and more — helping developers understand what's really happening under the hood.

How These Books Are Made

These books are created with the assistance of AI coding agents (Claude Code + Opus 4.6), guided and directed by human authors. The workflow looks like this:

  1. Human-led: People decide the topics, structure, and direction.
  2. AI-assisted: Claude Code + Opus 4.6 analyzes AOSP source code and helps draft the content.
  3. Human-reviewed: Every chapter is reviewed and refined by people to ensure accuracy and clarity(or publish with public reviewing).

We believe this approach lets us cover large, complex codebases at a depth and pace that would be difficult otherwise.

A Note on AI-Generated Content

We want to be upfront: AI is a core part of our writing process. We understand that not everyone is comfortable with AI-generated content, and that's completely fine — you don't have to read it.

But if you're curious and find the content useful, we'd love to have you around. Read, review, give feedback, point out mistakes, or even contribute directly. The goal is to make these books as accurate and helpful as possible, and that's a lot easier with community involvement.

Contributing

Found an error? Have a suggestion? Contributions are welcome — whether it's fixing a technical inaccuracy, improving an explanation, or proposing a new topic. Check individual book repositories for contribution guidelines.
