Future meetings

Where possible, we try to keep the website up to date with future meetings. However, sometimes we're too busy to update it for future events, or sometimes a speaker has not yet confirmed. To see the most up-to-date event calendar, see this public Google Cal (ical version here).
Note that Async is usually the first Thursday of every month; if there's no event listed it means that slot is available.
Here's a non-exhaustive list of possible topics. If you have time, please try to track down a speaker and ask them (consult the calendar above first to check which dates have already been booked). Alternatively, perhaps volunteer yourself to speak on the subject!
Feel free to add to the list, but please don't delete anything without letting us know:
- Internationalization (Ask someone from the BBC world service?)
- Another JSCodeGolf (Tom Parslow?)
- Server side rendering
- Redux IRL - not just a Todo app!
- Reason (OCaml which converts to JS) - tweet someone from Facebook
- A “proper” AI talk
- Async/await again (perhaps Qubyte again)
- Web Components
- Puppeteer/Headless Chrome vs PhantomJS
- Lighthouse/performance (Google may volunteer a speaker)
- iframes: permissions etc
- CSS grid (Rachel Andrew would be amazing if possible)
- How to learn JS - just getting started is really tough, a talk on how to learn from first principles would be great (e.g. State management, DOM manipulation, evaluation of tools)
- Introductory talk on a popular framework (React/Vue.js/Ember/Angular...)
- Introduction to Nginx/Apache
