This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app. It is a boilerplate for CustomHack.

Getting Started

First, install the dependencies via a package manager (we prefer pnpm):

pnpm install

Next run the development server

pnpm dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Geist, a new font family for Vercel.

Set your Tambo API key as NEXT_PUBLIC_TAMBO_API_KEY env variable. The NEXT_PUBLIC_ prefix makes it available client-side in browser.

Supabase: Database Sync & Management via Prisma

After editing your Prisma schema (prisma/schema.prisma file) or on first setup, run:

# Run a new migration and apply it to your database
npx prisma migrate dev --name <migration-name>

# Generate the Prisma client (usually done automatically by migrate)
npx prisma generate

Set database connection string as DATABASE_URL and DIRECT_URL env vars (in Supabase, choose Connect -> ORMs -> Prisma)

Setting up env variables

You need to create and use your own accounts and setup env variables for your project. It is up to you how you do this:

1. put them in .env file of your project. See env.example for a full list of env vars. Next.js loads them automatically for you.

2. export them globally (eg. export LINGODOTDEV_API_KEY=api_xxx) in your shell or profile (eg. ~/.profile)

Deploy on Vercel

The easiest way to deploy your Next.js app is to use the Vercel Platform from the creators of Next.js.

When deploying to Vercel make sure to populate all env variables in your app.
