Modern Drive Search is a powerful, intuitive desktop tool for searching and managing files across all drives on your Windows system in real-time. Whether you're hunting for a file across multiple drives or managing your files with advanced context menu options, this app is designed to make your life easier.
- Real-time results: See matching files instantly as you type and press Enter.
- Drive-specific search: Narrow down your search to a specific drive or scan all drives at once.
- Skips system folders: Avoid clutter by skipping system directories like
Windows,Program Files, etc.
- Switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode with a single click.
- The app remembers your preferred theme for future sessions.
- Lists all connected drives with details like name, letter, free space, and total capacity.
- Provides an easy way to select a specific drive for targeted searches.
Right-click on any search result to:
- Open the file or its location in Explorer.
- Copy, Cut, Rename, or Delete files directly.
- Create Shortcuts or Add to Favorites.
- Copy Full Path or just the File Name to your clipboard.
- Share, Open With, or view the Properties of the file.
- Search results are displayed in a table format with columns for:
- Type, Name, Path, Size, and Last Modified Date.
- File types are color-coded for quick identification (e.g., PDFs, images, executables).
- Download the latest version from the Releases page.
- Run ModernDriveSearchInstaller_x64.exe or ModernDriveSearchSetup.exe.
- Follow the setup wizard to install the app.
- Launch the app from the Start Menu or Desktop Shortcut.
- Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- Processor: x64 architecture required
- RAM: 4 GB or higher recommended
- Disk Space: At least 100 MB for installation

Search All Drives
- Simply type a search term into the search bar and press Enter.
- Matching files will appear in the results table in real-time.

Search Specific Drives
- Select a drive from the Drive List on the left panel.
- Enter a search term and press Enter to restrict the search to that drive.

File Actions
- Right-click on a search result to access actions like Copy, Rename, Open With, etc.

- Click the Dark Mode / Light Mode button in the top-right corner to toggle themes.
- Live File Search with instant results.

- Searching very large drives may take time but remains stable.
- Some file actions (e.g., sharing) require PyWin32 to be installed.
