Why can't I change dimensions of selection region?
Since mattermost uses electron in desktop version, I used react-easy-crop. React-cropper library does not support it. But you can make contribution from here to fix this.
I have 2 (or more) monitors with different size and selection area starts by including dark area in the screenshot?
This is related to react-easy-crop, it selects biggest area after given aspect ratio.
Will you implement this to Slack, Microsoft Teams etc?
No, unfortunately they don't provide an API like RegisterRootComponent provided by Mattermost.
