Programmer Math Practice App

This little side project can help new programmers practice converting between the various numbering system used by computers. I was inspired to build this app during my Introduction to Networking course at NSCC. In class we discussed IP and MAC addressing, and how they are represented in binary and hex.

Live Demo: https://benhovinga.github.io/ProgrammerMathApp/

Usage

To start, select a "Convert From" number system (Decimal, Binary, or Hexadecimal). This is the number the computer will give you to solve.

Next select a "Convert To" number system (Decimal, Binary, or Hexadecimal). This is the number you will try to solve.

Put your answer in the box and press submit to check your results. Press reset to clear and get a new number to solve.

Future Improvements

Things to improve on. I am accepting PRs for any improvements.

  • Add Octal (base 8) number system
  • Improve UI styles
