Before you begin, ensure your system meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later
- .NET Framework: 4.7.2 or higher
- Minimum RAM: 2 GB
- Recommended: 4 GB RAM for optimal performance
- SQL Connection String Scanning: Identify and report SQL connection strings in your .NET and web configurations.
- Risky Feature Detection: Get alerts for features like
xp_cmdshell, which can pose security risks. - Password Reuse Reporting: Find reused passwords to help you strengthen your security strategy.
- User-Friendly Interface: Navigate easily through the application, regardless of technical skill.
- Export Reports: Generate and save detailed security audit reports for your records.
- Visit the Releases Page: Go to the download page here.
- Choose the Latest Release: Look for the most recent version at the top of the page.
- Download the Application: Click on the link for the installer file and save it to your computer.
- Run the Installer: Locate the file in your downloads folder and double-click it to install.
- Launch the Application: Find the installed application in your Start Menu and open it.
- Select Configuration Files: Click on "Browse" to choose the .NET or web configuration files you want to scan.
- Start Scanning: Hit the "Scan" button. The tool will analyze the files and display the results.
- View the Results: After the scan completes, review the detected risks and recommendations.
- Export Your Report: If you want to keep a record, choose the "Export" option to save the report as a PDF or text file.
- Installation Issues: If the installer won't run, ensure you have the .NET Framework version specified above. You can download the latest version from the official Microsoft website.
- Scan Errors: If you experience issues during scanning, check that you have selected valid configuration files. Ensure they are accessible and not corrupted.
- Permissions: Run the application as an administrator if you encounter permission issues while scanning system files.
