Backend Software Engineer specializing in Java, Spring Boot, and distributed data systems. I enjoy building scalable backend services, microservices architectures, and data ingestion pipelines that process large datasets and power real-world applications. Oracle Certified Java SE 17 Developer.
Currently working at LocalBeat, a startup building a platform for discovering local events across the United States. My work focuses on building backend microservices and scalable data ingestion pipelines that collect and process nationwide event data from third-party APIs and large public datasets. I also help develop the metadata platform that powers event discovery, including venues, locations, artists, and event categories.
Previously at Silicon Mountain Technologies, I contributed to government data platforms supporting organizations including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, U.S. Space Force, and U.S. Air Force. I developed and maintained 20+ Java Spring Boot microservices, built scalable PySpark data pipelines processing millions of records, and implemented comprehensive automated testing to ensure reliability and maintainability. I also worked with Kubernetes environments, API gateways, and data analysis tools including Palantir Foundry.
My technical interests include backend architecture, distributed systems, data pipelines, and building reliable, maintainable software.
Iβm interested π in the great outdoors; mountain biking π΅ββοΈ, hiking π₯Ύ, camping βΊ, snowboarding π, and climbing π§ββοΈ.
