gtfs digest

  • Start working on the GTFS digest, our exploratory work looking across all the various GTFS workstreams
  • Try merging at route-direction-[some_time_entity] column for Mar-Dec 2023 single day data
  • Merge them all, regardless of content, and even clean up route_ids across time
  • Now we can see that the exports aren't harmonious, especially in the identifier (gtfs_dataset_key vs organization_source_record_id and time (peak, all-day, AM Peak, etc) columns we use
  • Surface the variety of issues that we should improve upon. All outlined in Research Request - refactor segment speed exports  #992

segment speeds

  • Add script to calculate single day average by route-direction (Epic - Daskify RT segment speeds #592)
    • Simplify the multiple day averaging to single day averaging to route-direction segments -- we're missing this grain right now, and weekly average won't merge nicely since we only have 2 months
  • Add gtfs-segments package to requirements.txt...but haven't used it yet
