What File To Download?

(For Windows)

Download Either The:

    Fully Tested. With Utmost Support For All Features
  • DisCamSetup.exe
    Windows Installer (BETA) This Binary Installer May Contain Problems & Some Features are Non-Existent

(For Linux)

  • Download The: discam_1.1.0_NativeRelease_Linux.deb (Installer)
    OR
  • Use The Universal Version

Universal Edition

This Version Is Compatible With All Operating Systems (With Python And Dependenices Installed)

Notes

Changelog

  • Now You Can Click Anywhere on The Screen to take a photo , Keyboard Key c also works.
  • The Default Picture Saving Path is now by default set to: ~The User's Folder~\Pictures\Discam. and Will Save To The Current Active User's "Discam" Folder Under the Pictures Folder.
  • Facial Recognition (Automated Pictures) Is Now Available . Press F Key to turn on face detection feature. And The If a Face is detected it will take photos with 3 second intervals. By Default This Feature is Off. [**THIS FEATURE MAY NOT WORK WITH THE INSTALLERS (refer #3 ) **]
  • Now The Pictures and The Camera Feed are Mirrored. To Ensure More Convinience to the user when posing. (This Was Implemented In Older Versions , But Due to a bug It Was Not Enforced Properly).
  • Fixed Bug Which Occured On Older Cameras (Very Old Wired External Ones) Where The Camera Feed Would Flicker Constantly due to it because of the Default Resolution Set to FHD (1080p) By Default.

Dependencies & Operating Systems

  • Python 3.11 Or Above.
  • Windows 7 Or Above.
  • Linux , 2019 Or Later , Which Can Support .deb Installers.
  • Linux (Universal) , 2016 or Later , Which Can Use Python 3.10 Or Later.
  • Currently , MacOS HAS NOT OFFICIALLY BEEN TESTED But It Might Work With Python 3.10 Or Above
  • Python Dependency - OpenCV2 Python at PyPi.org
  • Python Dependency - tkinter at Python Docs

System Requirements

Recommended:

  • Python 3.11 Or Above [TESTED]
  • A Working Windows 7+ Computer / Linux Distribution (2019 or later) which support .deb files
  • A Working USB/Integrated Camera Which Is Detected In System.
  • 1GB RAM Or Above
  • 500MB Of Free Space In Local Storage.

Discam Can Be Used Without Python For Windows Versions. But This Is Not Tested And May Not Work.

Minimum:
-Python 3.5 Or Above [NOT TESTED]
-A Windows Computer That Can Run .exe Files / A Linux Computer With Support To run .deb files

  • Working USB/Integrated Camera Which is Detected In System (Wireless and Serial Cameras Have Not Been Tested)
  • 256MB Of RAM
  • *50MB Of Free Space In Local Storage
    *for universal release (excluding dependent libararies)

P.S: The Installers don't work properly for This Version, Consider Downloading the Installer Patch
