Debug logs are an essential tool for diagnosing issues with Kodi and its add-ons. This guide will walk you through two methods of enabling and sharing these logs for Cumination.
Kodi Logfile Uploader simplifies the process of sharing debug logs. When run, it uploads the current Kodi log to a public server, generating a URL for users to share. While this tool is invaluable for troubleshooting, please ensure to review your logs for sensitive information before sharing.
- Open the context menu for the Cumination add-on.
- Navigate to "Settings".
- Under the "Advanced" tab, find and select "Toggle Kodi Debug Log on or Off". This will enable or disable the debug log as needed.
- Restart Kodi (Important)
- Go into Cumination and open the site (wait for the error message) to re-create the error
- Come out of cumination
- Disable Debug logging
- launch Kodi Logfile uploader and upload your log providing a URL that you can add to the bug report.
- Still in the Cumination settings, under the "Advanced" tab, find and select "Start Kodi Logfile Uploader".
- If the Kodi Logfile Uploader isn't installed, Cumination will handle the installation for you.
- The add-on will then run, uploading your log and providing a URL that you can add to the bug report.
- Start Kodi and navigate to the home screen.
- Click on the "Settings" (gear) icon.
- Head over to "System settings".
- Adjust the setting level at the bottom left to "Advanced" or "Expert".
- Access "Logging" and then enable "Enable debug logging".
- From the Kodi home screen, select "Add-ons".
- Click on the package icon (open box) at the top left.
- Choose "Install from repository".
- Navigate to the Kodi Add-on Repository > Program add-ons.
- Find "Kodi Logfile Uploader" and install it.
- Once installed, run the "Kodi Logfile Uploader" add-on.
- The add-on will upload your log and provide a URL. Share this URL when seeking help or reporting issues.
