Let's see if this solves the "reset UI on reboot" issue. The original version that I tried this on had an issue with downloading data, but this seems to be fine at least as an initial test

v5.0.9updatecheck, the new API is already promisified, so just return the values directly instead of promisifying themupdateResponseis now a struct, deal with it properly
