Rule of Sum If there are π objects of the first type and there are π objects of the second type, then there are π + π objects of one of two types β’ Important lesson: in the rule of sum no object should belong to both classes! β’ Set is the data structure that we use when order does not matter. in Math the order does not matter in a set. β’ There is a correspondance between set operations and boolean expressions. & intersection | union the intersection is the multiplication, 3 or 2 means that the intersection is those that are divided by 6
