SafePaste uses a high-performance, regex-based detection engine optimized for browser environments.
| Category | Entities Detected |
|---|---|
| Financial | Credit Cards (Luhn validated), IBAN, SWIFT, Bank Accounts |
| Crypto | BTC (Legacy/Bech32), ETH Addresses |
| Credentials | JWTs, AWS Keys, Private Keys (RSA/SSH), Generic API Keys |
| Personal | SSN, Passport, Phone Numbers, Emails, DOB |
| Network | IPv4, IPv6, MAC Addresses |
Because we use Aggressive Detection, the engine is tuned for high recall (detecting everything) rather than high precision.
- Why? In security, a false positive (flagging a non-secret) is safer than a false negative (missing a real secret).
- Mitigation: Users can use the "Custom Select" feature to unmask false positives before pasting.
