High Level Analysis
Administration's role is to help with verification of registration email addresses as well as assist users with any difficulties using the application such as regaining access to an account due to a forgotten password. The administrators will also monitor the site for poor behaviour and inappropriate comments/content in order to provide a pleasant environment for all NYU students using the application.
In our application, Students and Alumni have the ability to create an account using their NYU email address and join the NYU Interview Prep community. In the community, the students and alumni have the ability to connect with other users, prepare for interviews by answering frequently asked questions, reading other students/alumni experiences, and posting their own mock interviews for review. Additionally, students/alumni can find reviews and ratings of companies from other users based on work experience.
The recruiting/hiring manager will be able to use this application as a means of connecting with potential candidates for jobs. They will be able to search for candidates based on job preferences and view their posted interview content to perform an initial vetting of a candidate. The application will provide a smoother/easier process of finding good candidates for the job they are looking to fill.

- As a Hiring Manager/Recruiter, I want to be able to register and login to the platform so that I can connect with students/alumni that I am interested in interviewing for a position at my company so that I can make the hiring process easier.
- As an NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to connect with other NYU alumni in my career path whether they are working professionals or still in school so that I can expand my network for referral and career opportunities.
- As a user, I want to be able to search for alumni based on their industry and career experience so that I can identify networking targets.
- As an NYU Student/Alumni or a Hiring Manager, I want to connect with other users over video conference to discuss questions, interviews, or job positions so that I can have face-to-face interaction within the NYU community.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to access templates for specific companies and roles for the mock interviews so that I can have a better understanding of what to expect during a real interview and practice my answers with a more targeted approach.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to have mock interviews for myself and the ability to record my screen or myself - where I can select a mock interview template (company + position as UID, categorized to behavioral + technical, with questions drawn from community inputs) so that I can mimic the same environment as an actual interview.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to receive detailed feedback both from myself and others using the recording so that I can identify areas where I need improvement and get advice on how to improve.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to access a comprehensive and up-to-date list of interview questions given a company + position input so that I can be fully prepared for any questions that may come up during my interview.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to view answers to those questions for the interviewer so that I can have a clearer understanding of what is expected of me during an interview and feel more confident in my responses.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to rate and review employers and jobs I have interviewed for so that I can provide valuable feedback to other students and alumni.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to be able to view ratings and reviews for employers and jobs so that I can make informed decisions about which companies and jobs to apply for.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want the website to incentivize exchange of the most up-to-date information where if I have an upcoming OA, I want to learn from other users who have completed the OA already what questions they encountered during the OA so that I can be better prepared and increase my chances of success at upcoming interviews.
- As a NYU Student/Alumni, I want to track my interview prep progress so that I can see myself improving and know what I still need to work on so that I can do well in my interview.
- As a NYU Student I want to be able to get notifications when I receive a new connection request, updates on a post, updates new questions falling into a specific company/position combination are posted by other users, and others so that I can stay up to date with .
- As an administrator, I want to be able to help a user regain access to their account when they have lost access to their password or email so that those who have been inactive for a long time can still reconnect and practice for new interviews.
- As an administrator, I want to verify that new users are either NYU students/alumni using their NYU emails, or are recruiters/hiring managers looking to fill a position so that the NYU community can find jobs easier.
