After installing the Chrome plugin, it needs to be given access and also have the icon visible. This can be done using the following steps:
- To the right of the Chrome address bar, click on the puzzle piece icon
- Under the list of extensions, find and click the pin icon next to the iTrace-Chrome Plugin under the Access Requested section
- Click on the name of iTrace-Chrome Plugin
With the iTrace Core open, the iTrace Chrome Plugin can be connected by clicking the Start
button found on the iTrace Chrome Plugin popup when the plugin icon is clicked. When the iTrace Chrome Plugin is successfully connected, the text below the Start button will change to Session Started - Connected
.
NOTE: iTrace Core must be running before attempting to connect the iTrace Eclipse Plugin and iTrace Core must be using the default websocket_port setting value (7007).
To start a tracking session, ensure that the iTrace Chrome Plugin is connected and then click the Start Tracking
button on the iTrace Core application. When the session is complete, click Stop Tracking
on the iTrace Core application. If you intend to start another tracking session, it is necessary to open a new tab in Chrome before beginning a new session in iTrace Core. A new session can be started by clicking Start Tracking
again on iTrace Core.
When you are completely finished with data collection from your subject, stop the tracker using the iTrace Core application and then click 'Write XML Data' on the iTrace Chrome plugin.
