Annoucing the CADRE Fellowship program
CADRE, or the Collaborative Archive & Data Research Environment, is ready to provide early access to a limited set of researchers. We invite you to collaborate with our team of experts and use our state-of-the-art big bibliometric data and cloud computing environment for your next research project!
CADRE aims to provide sustainable, affordable, and standardized data and analytic services for open and licensed big bibliometric data. To better understand the needs of our users, including but not limited to Scientometrics/Science of Science researchers, librarians, and other research technical service providers, we would like to take the opportunity announce our CADRE fellowship program.
As a CADRE Fellow, you will
- Gain access to the latest bibliometric data sets, including Web of Science and Microsoft Academic Graph
- Receive data and technical support for your project, including training webinars on CADRE tools and data sets
- Join the CADRE community with other fellows, and share your ideas and feedback with the CADRE team on Slack channels and in GitHub repositories
- Have early access to free cloud computing resources as we update and test different components of the CADRE platform
- Receive travel scholarships to present your work at primer venues
Six full scholarships are now available for the upcoming International Conference on Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI 2019) at Sapienza University in Rome, Sept 2-5, 2019. You can check out our ISSI proposals here.
Applicants will need to fill out an application form at CADRE Fellowship proposal (first round) by May 31th, 2019. In the proposal, please specify your research plan and data/computation needs. We encourage applicants to form teams that span across discipline and institutional boundaries. We will announce the first round of CADRE Fellows (6 teams) on June 14th. The choice will be based on merit as well as potential value to the development of CADRE platform. The call will remain open and new fellows will be selected should new openings become available.
Any researcher team from a university (U.S. or non-U.S.) is eligible to apply for the CADRE Fellowship. However, Web of Science Data Access may only be granted to researchers affiliated with one of the 14 member institutions of BTAA. The WoS data set is a proprietary data set own by Clarivate Analytics and subject to access policies.
Up to 2 team members can ask for travel support (flight, registration, and hotel) to the upcoming (ISSI 2019) in Rome, Sept 2-5, 2019. Only CADRE Fellows will be considered for travel support, but participation in the conference is not a requirement for Fellowship status.
You can find out more about CADRE and related data sets at our website. For illustrative examples, you can also check out our current on-going collaborative project issues at our public GitHub repositories. We also have an open call for user stories. Please feels free to pass along both calls to your colleagues and friends.
