A Necessary Update
I have the utmost admiration for every single open-source developer who works on both large and small projects. It’s been a while since the last release (20 months, almost two years). To explain everything in a short manner, well, life happened. But we move forward!
This release includes commits related to maintenance, migration, and new languages. (An update from the previous release, Firefox porting is parked for now which is detailed in #410.)
New Languages
- Serbian - @lxmarinkovic (#580)
- Turkish - @dogagcmnr (#196)
Maintenance
- Update to Manifest v3 (Extensions using v2 will not work by January 2023) - @jayehernandez (#618)
- Move from Heroku to Vercel as backend (Heroku removes all free dynos by November 2022) - @jayehernandez (#618)
- Security updates from dependabot
For the near future, I regret to say that this may be the last release for a while. This update was mostly done out of need for the updates to the Chrome Extension Manifest and Heroku. While no new features will be added in, it will still be up and can be downloaded by the public in the Chrome Web Store.
No new issues and pull requests will be entertained. The repository will be revamped to reflect this change. For any other concerns, you may use the contact form over at the Letra site.
And as always,
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release (and in the project as a whole!) 🥳
