Data analysis and visualization of nationality & gender distribution in the MoMA art collection
I was introduced to this official MoMA dataset in the Interactive Data Visualization class as part of MS Data Analysis and Visualization. Intrigued by the access to this massive 151,834 works of art from their collection, I decided to focus on gender and nationalities in order to explore and understand the MoMA collection dataset.

📊 Research, the goal of which is to explore the gender and nationalities of artists in the context of diversity in modern art institutions and MoMA in particular.

🧽 Methodology, I used Tableau prep to clean and pre-process the data and D3.js to create the stacked bar charts.

collection (as of May 2024). I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas as well! The data on diversity is limited - it doesn't count dual or multiple nationalities, and it's not perfect. I'm still learning about data processing, so there may be some mistakes here and there, and I'll continue to work on understanding the data better.
