Visual Regression Testing

Martina Scholz edited this page Oct 13, 2024 · 1 revision

Visual regression testing is a technique used to ensure that changes to a website or web application don’t unintentionally alter its visual appearance. This type of testing compares screenshots of web pages before and after code changes to identify unintended differences, such as layout shifts, broken styles, or missing elements.

Visual regression testing helps maintain a website’s visual integrity as it evolves, ensuring consistency across design, browsers, and different viewports / devices.
