Running Fedora 41 KDE Spin on my Samsung Galaxy Book4 (NP750XGJ-KG2BR).
Those benchmarks are made with Geekbench 6, comparing Windows 11 23h2 and Fedora 41 KDE Spin:
Vulkan and OpenCL benchmarks are outliers results, probably because:
- Xe Iris Kernel Modules still in early development and the Linux Kernel use i915 Kernel Module by default; or
- The Samsung custom firmware makes a lot of changes to perform better on Windows, and worst on Linux.
Another point is: Vulkan score > OpenCL score, they are not even equal on Windows and some benchmarks shows that OpenCL poorly works.
I working on a university research using OpenCL and SYCL to benchmark image processing algorithms with parallel computing. For some reason, OpenCL does not perform as expected and using the algorithms running on Host (CPU) results in 20 times faster than running on OpenCL device (CPU or GPU). For this reason, I using friends devices to perform the benchmarks for me.
For now, the only way is wait for new kernel module update in Linux Kernel and the Samsung to provides a new firmware to solve those problems.
The problem is solved when the firmware is updated. You can update to the latest version through Windows Update.
If no Windows is installed or firmware can't be updated, see issue #1 for a workaround.
The latest firmware is needed, so update through Windows Update.

The built-in speaker volume is almost inaudible when lower than 20%.
The same issue occurs when using a Samsung USB-C Earphone, both speakers and earphone are manufatured by AKG.
Maybe this discussion is useful to find a way to solve the problem.
When the screen brightness change hotkey is pressed the screen brightness takes a second to apply. If the hotkey is kept pressed the brightness screen intensity jumps to a higher intensity instead of increasing gradually.
