The scatter plot is dense and better for evaluating the data processing.
As seen in the quick look scatter plot the backscatter variables are quite sparse.

This is likely still related to #6, but that Issue is getting kindof long. Maybe we should have another Issue for these kind of refinements and miscellaneous fixups that we'll continue to encounter...
