Capturing debug traces

PRIVACY WARNING: The trace may contain some personal information such as your Windows account name (user name) and/or some file paths.

Do not start your application or game yet!

Go to the VirtualDesktopXR installation folder: you can copy this string into your File Explorer to be taken directly to the correct folder: %ProgramFiles%\Virtual Desktop Streamer\OpenXR.

Right click on Capture-ETL.bat and select 'Run as Administrator'.

Leave that command prompt window open

Start your application or game and reproduce the crash/issue

Back to the command prompt window, click on the window and press a key to finish the recording. Do not use the X icon to close the window!

ZIP up the file VDXR.etl created in the %ProgramFiles%\Virtual Desktop Streamer\OpenXR folder. This step is very important, these files are highly compressible. Send it to the developer / attach it to the issue.
