Instead changed pkg_resource to resources per the recommendations from the deprecated pkg_resource online documents, and additionally made changes to code to ensure proper inputs to resource library use. i.e. broke down the given path for the config, to join path with resource.files, and then convert this (which is a posix path object) to a text file (i.e. usable as a string).
