Want to use the modcore Extension Manager? Here's a step-by-step guide to downloading and installing it:
- Visit the GitHub Page: Go to the official modcore Extension Manager GitHub page: https://github.com/modcoretech/modcore-extension-manager
- Download the ZIP File: Click the green "Code" button. Select "Download ZIP" from the dropdown menu. Wait for the ZIP file to finish downloading.
- Extract the ZIP File: Locate the downloaded ZIP file on your computer. Right-click the file and select "Extract All..." (or a similar option, depending on your operating system). Choose a location to extract the files (such as your desktop) and click "Extract." Important Notice: Occasionally, you might find two folders with the same name after extraction. If this occurs, move the inner folder to a new location (e.g., your desktop) and delete the empty outer folder. This simplifies the process for Chrome to recognize the extension.
-
Open Chrome Extensions:
Open the Google Chrome browser.
In the address bar, type
chrome://extensionsand press Enter. - Enable Developer Mode: In the top right corner of the Extensions page, you'll see a switch labeled "Developer mode." Click the switch to turn it on.
- Load the Unpacked Extension: Click the "Load unpacked" button. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the modcore Extension Manager files (the one you moved to your desktop, if applicable). Select the folder and click "Select Folder" (or "Open").
- Installation Complete! The modcore Extension Manager should now be installed and enabled in Chrome.
- Ensure you have Google Chrome installed on your computer.
- Enabling developer mode is necessary to install extensions from local folders.
- If you encounter any issues, double-check that you have selected the correct folder when loading the unpacked extension.
- Always download the newest version from the Releases Page.
