1. Installation

Make sure the Moodles cron job is running. The groupformation plugin will never start creating groups if cron is not running. Further information about the cron can be found on moodle.org

The plugin offers the option to send messages to course admins when the groupformation is done. Make sure moodle messages are forwarded by e-mail to offline users. (optional)
- Unzip the plugin file in the “mod” folder of the Moodle directory and, if necessary, rename the newly extracted folder to "groupformation".
- Then visit your Moodle server's
Site Administration -> Notifications
page and Upgrade Moodles database,
-- OR -- Go toAdministration > Site Administration > Install add-ons
to install the Groupformation module directly from your Moodle installation.
DONE.
The groupformation plugin maintains a upgrade support.
This means you can replace older versions with new ones.
Your Moodle installation will detect the new version and offer
to make the necessary database changes.
WARNING: Do not update the plugin while your users run groupformation tasks.
We recommend to update during off-season times (e.g. at night).
The most save approach is to uninstall the plugin,
replace it and install it again. This will automatically remove
all groupformations of users (made with the old version).
