  • ignore the broken update that EA released to brick your Origin after restart1
  • do not let user install the mod if they didn't install Origin already (being more fool-proof)
  • treat all content updates as non-mandatory (to allow launching games without updates)2
1 This means that you shouldn't need to edit the `EACore.ini` file to disable updates anymore in order to use Origin at all.
2 Bonus feature, because forced game updates are sometimes annoying.
