Installation 📦

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v14 or later)
  • MySQL (v8 or later)

Steps

  1. Clone the Repository

    git clone https://github.com/yourusername/election-analysis-dashboard.git
    cd election-analysis-dashboard
  2. Install Dependencies

    npm install
  3. Set Up the Database

    Create a MySQL database and import the provided schema:

    CREATE DATABASE election_db;
    USE election_db;
    SOURCE path/to/schema.sql;
  4. Configure Environment Variables

    Create a .env file in the root directory and add your database configuration:

    DB_HOST=localhost
    DB_USER=root
    DB_PASSWORD=yourpassword
    DB_NAME=election_db
  5. Run the Application

    Start the backend server:

    npm run start

    Open a new terminal and start the frontend development server:

    cd client
    npm start

    The dashboard should now be accessible at http://localhost:3000.
